Gorilla trekking in Uganda. Mountain gorillas are found in three countries in the whole world, Rwanda, Congo and Uganda. They are habituated in Virunga National Park, Volcanoes National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and finally Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which has half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world. Gorilla trekking permit in Uganda cost 600 Usds per permit and gorilla habituation experience cost 1500 Usds per permit. What is the difference between gorilla trekking and gorilla habituation experience. Gorilla trekking is the process where tourists go into the jungle in search of the endangered mountain gorillas and will spend only one hour with the gorillas. Gorilla habituation experience is process of training the endangered mountain gorillas by reserachers and Uganda wildlife authority to get used to presence of human being. After finding mountain gorilla during gorilla trekking, you will spend one hour with the gorillas while gorilla habituation experience you will spend four hours with the gorillas. Gorilla trekking cost 600 Usds per permit while Gorilla habituation experience cost 1500 Usds per permit. Gorillas Uganda has got 17 habituated gorilla families and each family takes 8 people per days. Bwindi impenetrable national park is located in south western uganda and the park has got half of the remaining endangered mountain gorillas in whole world. Bwindi impenetrable national park is the only national park where chimpanzees co-exist with mountain gorillas. So when trekking gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable national park, you may have chance of viewing chimpanzees, elephants, plenty of bird species and other wildlife. Rules and regulation for gorilla trekking Only maximum of 8 tourists are allowed to trek a gorilla family per day. Only tourists with gorilla permits are allowed to trek gorillas. Anyone with communicable disease like flu is not allowed to trek gorillas. Flash ligh cameras are not allowed in the park. Keep your voices low always and your free to asks the game ranger questions but with low voice. Always carry packed lunch/sacks with enough drinking water because trek takes from an hour to eight hours depending on the movement of gorillas and where they built their nest the pervious night. Never touch gorilla beacuse gorilla remains as wild animal. Do not eat, smoke or drink near mountain gorillas. You must stay in the tight group when with gorillas. Please never leave your group. What to bring on gorilla safari trip - Long sleeve shirt and long trouser - Comfortable boot hiking shoes that is suitable for slippery muddy slopes. - Carry rain gear because rains from impenetrable forest can fall any time. - Carry packed lunch and enough drinking water - Carry sunscreen lotion - Carry insect repellent - Carry camera with no flash light for photos
