Introduction The new Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have a lot to offer. They're both powerful Android phones with excellent software, but they also have some drawbacks that you should know about before buying one. Plus: Excellent camera The 12-megapixel camera on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is an excellent choice for those who care about picture quality. The phones feature an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS) for clearer photos in low light. While it may not be as fast as other smartphones like the Galaxy S9 or iPhone X when it comes to shooting, Google's HDR+ mode produces some beautiful shots that you'll want to share with friends and family on social media immediately after taking them. Both phones also have an 8MP front-facing camera with autofocus. This allows you to capture high-quality selfies without having to worry about focusing manually before snapping a photo--a feature we've seen on other high-end handsets like Apple's iPhone 8 Plus but never before on a Google device! Plus: AMOLED display The Pixel 2 has an AMOLED display, which is brighter and more vivid than the Pixel 2 XL's. and pixel 7a could be the best series phone It also uses less power to produce those colors, so you can expect your battery life to be better on this phone than on its larger counterpart. What's more, Google says that the Pixel 2's screen supports HDR10 content (the standard format for high-dynamic range video) while the Pixel 2 XL does not--although both phones have chipsets powerful enough to decode such content if you're watching it through Netflix or YouTube videos. Plus: Glass design and wireless charging
Plus: Improved battery life What's the best thing about the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL? Their improved battery life. Both phones have a 2700 mAh battery and 3520 mAh battery respectively, which are both much bigger than the original Pixels' batteries (2770 mAh for the 5-inch model and 3450 mAh for its larger counterpart). They also have fast charging capabilities--Google claims you can get 7 hours of use after 15 minutes of charging--as well as wireless charging capabilities through Qi-compatible pads. Minus: Not water resistant The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are not water resistant. You may have noticed this in the marketing materials, but if you haven't, here's what it means: The phones are not waterproof. They're not waterproof at all--they won't survive being submerged in water for any length of time. This isn't just a warning to avoid dunking them in your bathtub or washing machine; it also means that you should avoid getting caught out in the rain with either device on hand unless you want to risk damaging your phone by accident. It's worth noting that some other flagship phones do come with some form of water resistance (like Apple's iPhone X). However, even though these competitors offer more protection from moisture than Google's latest devices do, they don't offer any more protection from drops on hard surfaces since both companies use glass backs for their phones' displays instead of plastic shells like Samsung does with its Galaxy S8 line-up Minus: Display issues (XL only) The Pixel 2 XL is the larger of the two new phones, and it has a 6-inch pOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratios. The screen has issues with color calibration, burn-in and blue shift (when you see a faint ghost image of what's been on your screen). It also suffers from black smear--a phenomenon that causes dark pixels to be visible when viewing low-contrast images at an angle. The Pixel 2 has a 5-inch AMOLED display with 16:9 aspect ratios; it doesn't have any of these problems because it doesn't use POLED technology The new Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have many pros, but also some cons.
Conclusion There are many pros and cons to the new Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The biggest pro is the camera, which is one of the best on any smart phone. However, there are some issues with both phones that you should know about before buying one. These include display issues on the larger Pixel 2 XL model as well as not being water resistant like many other phones today such as Samsung Galaxy S8 or Note 8 Smartphone’s.
