Fiber optic clothing also known as light up clothing is made of fiber optic fabric. It is a piece of fabric that lights up. They are made of ultra-thin optical fibers that are woven with synthetic fibers. It involves processing of optical fibers that are specially processed to allow the light to be emitted along the entire length of the fibers. These fibers are connected to ultra-bright LEDs which are woven at the end of the fabric. These LEDs, when they light up cause the woven fiber optic to glow with the color of the LED.
Availability
The fiber optic fabric is available in almost dozen of colors. The fabric is water resistant and may be washed rather easily. With the use of fiber optic technology, light up clothing like night fashion, stage costumes, home decoration, interior architecture, stage decoration, and luxury boat or car decoration or in the special events as well.
Folding The Clothes
The fiber optic fabric is as fast and flexible as other synthetic fabric. But you have to take care of these fabrics in a special way. You might have been using other fabrics clothes and might have been folding them in the desired way like a sheet of paper. However, if you try doing the same to clothes made with optical fibers it may permanently damage the optical fibers causing permanent damage to the clothes. If you are not sure about how to fold the luminous fabric, then better not fold them in the first place.
Cleaning Them
You can gently hand-wash the fiber optic fabric with water up to 50 degree Celsius. You don’t need any special detergent to clean these clothes; just any natural detergent will do. But before you wash them just make sure that you have removed the batteries. Another thing that you may keep in mind is that you don’t have to immerse the battery box in the water even if the batteries have been removed. Once you have cleaned these clothes, just use the hangar to dry them. Never iron these fabrics as they may well damage the luminous fabric. It is worth mentioning again that, to dry and smoothen fiber optic products, just hang them on a clothing hanger.
In The End
You must know how to best take care of your fiber optic clothing so that they aren’t damaged with extended usage.
