In this compilation I am sharing what I think are some of my favorite restaurants in Ottawa-Gatineau that I visit quite often due to not only the price but quality of the food as well.
98lala noodles (https://lala-noodle.com/) I think I've been to 98lala noodles, more than any other restaurant in Ottawa. Their hand-pulled noodles are just so good and the portions are huge! , even for small sizes, you will get a lot of food. Pricing is relatively on the lower end compared to nearby restaurants.
Suya Palace African Grill (https://www.suyapalace.com/) I don't know why but I have noticed that I crave Suya Palace more and more when it's winter time! Last year it was my favorite weekend restaurant, I would drive there and order their beef suya which is so good! I recommend you to go for takeouts though as I haven't found the dining experience pleasant enough.
Yunshang noodle restaurant (https://yunshang.ca/) I go to Yunshang in downtown ottawa for their rice noodles. It's a minimalist looking restaurant but if you want to experience unique cuisine with your date, then this might be a good option. The pricing is reasonable as well.
Antonyme Restaurant (https://restaurant-antonyme.ca/) I don't go to Antonyme often but whenever I have been there, I have found the food to be amazingly good. This restaurant also gets a really good rating on their presentation skills. Perfect spot for date night but note that the prices are a little bit higher.
Costco Food Court (https://www.costco.ca/) I think this is actually my most visited restaurant. The Costco in Gatineau has really good chicken wings (much better than the costco in Ontario) Also their hot dogs are quite affordable. $1.50 for a hotdog with drink is such a good deal. However don't go to Costco for their sushi which I think needs improvement.
Metro Sushi (https://www.metro.ca/) If you want affordable sushi then head to Metro, they have the best Sushi out of all the grocery stores I have tried so far. Aki Sushi does a really good job making its sushi. I think the cheapest ones cost about 6 bucks which is extremely affordable.
Kitchen Maroo (https://www.kitchenmaroo.com/) Try out Maroo during Xmas as they have some special menu items. This korean restaurant I think was the first restaurant that I felt was something that could be considered as one of the best restaurants in ottawa.
You can't go wrong with these restaurants/food shops, whether you want to go on date or just need a regular lunch item. All of the restaurants show that Ottawa does have good food experience to offer!
If you run into any food safety issues at restaurants, you can always complain to Ottawa Public Health but before you do that, check with the restaurant and see if they are willing to resolve the issue.
