Fans of the Sherlock series should not expect the fifth season to be released any time soon. It has been more than two and a half years since the last episode of Season 4 aired on the BBC, and since then there has been some disappointing new information about the possibility of making a fifth season. In 2014, the series' creator, Steven Moffat, announced that he and another writer, Mark Gates, had written the story of the fourth and fifth seasons at the same time, but after making the fourth season, the people in charge of the series showed great excitement about producing the fifth season. Did not give. So what is the latest information about making the fifth season of the Sherlock series? Collider writer Christine Redish spoke to Martin Freeman about his role in Ode To Joy, during which he asked about the possibility of making more episodes of the series. Freeman has said that not only him, but also Benedict Cambrich, Moffat and Gates are extremely busy and do not want to destroy the series' legacy by making a low-quality season. Freeman said the end of the fourth season provided an opportunity for a significant break between seasons. The actor did not oppose playing in Season 5 of the Sherlock series, but points out that he will only return to this condition if they make something really great. As Freeman says, all the makers of this series are extremely busy. He has several film projects in the pipeline, Cambrich will star in the second installment of Dr. Strange next year, and Moffat and Gates plan to make a new Dracula-themed series. Therefore, we can say that the year of the fifth season of the Sherlock series is not known, but it is not completely out of the realm of probability.
