Artworks samples were studied with a similar multi-analytical approach, and utilized micro-Raman spectroscopy instead of XRD, for its non-destructive application. A wide range of possible compounds was identified due to the complementarity use of analytical techniques, representing a significant first step in Argentinian modern art research. We present a multi-analytical non-invasive approach for the characterisation of yellow paints used in three paintings from the International Gallery of Modern Art Cà Pesaro, Venice. We propose a non-invasive approach for the study of illuminated manuscripts based on the combination of near-infrared reflectance imaging, X-ray fluorescence mapping, and Raman spectroscopy. Taking advantage of the different absorption coefficient of the characteristic X-ray emission lines of a specific element, we have implemented a differential mapping method to distinguish the X-ray emissions from two paint layers of a manuscript. This approach was applied to a coat-of-arms of a precious illuminated manuscript belonging to the Trivulziana library collection and revealed specific patterns through the mapping of the spatial distribution of lead in different paint layers. Multivariate methods, including principal component analysis and non-negative matrix factorization, applied to the X-ray fluorescence mapping dataset demonstrate the spatial correlation between different elements. The use of complementary Raman and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy has hence permitted the identification of the pigments employed in the original and overpainting layers found on the coat-of-arms. Through analysis, it was possible to identify the patron of the Salterium, attributed to Fracesco dei librai, as 15th C. Pigments Checker is a collection of swatches of historical and modern pigments that offers art professionals, conservation scientists, conservators and fine art photographers, a tool to evaluate and test their imaging and spec-troscopic methodologies for pigment identification.
Cecilia Giménez, a widow then in her 80s, said on Spanish national television at the time that she had tried to restore the fresco because it was her favorite representation of Jesus. The original “The Immaculate Conception of El Escorial” is at the Museo del Prado in Madrid. On Wednesday, the museum confirmed that the copy of the painting did not belong to it and that it was not restored there. The news agency said that the collector was surprised when he saw that the face in the painting “was completely disfigured.” The collector, it said, has asked another specialist to fix the painting. Within the gallery the viewer is surrounded by the peoples, costumes, and traditions of various regions of Spain.
Kubelik features Mitumi, a local jewellery brand created by Josu and Marieta. Their handmade, contemporary style earrings, broaches and necklaces are all limited editions and are made in their studio in Valencia. Further up the road I found Simple, a charming concept store with local products in lovely packaging, including spices, soaps, jewellery, all made in Spain. A short cab ride from the city center is La Salita Restaurante, another fine dining restaurant, also highly recommended. However, the study of the long-term mechanical behaviour of paint films and its relationship with paint degradation and conservation still needs further investigation. This paper presents an insight into the role of cobalt blue pigment in the mechanical properties of some modern paint films by studying selected commercial oil and alkyd paint films containing cobalt blue. In addition, several representative mock-ups containing cobalt blue mixed with drying and semi-drying oils and some common additives were also tested for comparison purposes. Optical microscopy, SEM-EDX, XRF, VIS-reflectance spectroscopy, FTIR-ATR and GC-MS analysis were carried out to identify pigments, binders, additives and fillers. store appears as a white canvas on which to capture the sensitivity, versatility and simplicity of Bimani products. Starting with the spacious entrance, framed by bright yellow and blue neon signs, visitors are guided by a large counter towards the area of mathematics, writing and reading workbooks, close to the workshop training area. Further into the shop, we arrive at the so-called “tunnel of colour”, where a time machine guides visitors through the RUBIO universe. The Creative Director of Masquespacio says that they had expansive liberty in the creative process, “When they contacted us, they told us that they wanted the store to blend the publisher’s lauded past with its expected future.
We wanted to make the feel of the paint as close as possible to real graffiti shading. August 2019, Samsung opened a massive concept showroom at their expansive new King’s Cross location in London. The Chennai paint line also doubled the plant’s hourly vehicle capacity, going from 15 vehicles per hour to 34 vehicles per hour. The use of both of these was required in order to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the composition of Melani's materials. Furthermore, one of his artworks, named by Melani himself with its inventory number N. The results showed that Melani used traditional inorganic pigments as well as modern organic dyes. Sulphur and abrasive powder were also found, thus confirming his use of a large variety of non-conventional artists' materials. A recent visual survey of Abstract Expressionist-era paintings in the collection of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden , Smithsonian Institution revealed a particular type of paint layer separation. Earlier work by the authors showed that zinc oxide in oil paint is a contributing factor to the problem. In a typical fully cured oil paint, the oleic acid is oxidized to azelaic acid. Just recently on June 10, Barbi painted a mural in Nazaret, one of the roughest neighborhoods in Valencia due to it’s strong gypsy influence and its drug-related activities at the commercial port.
