Why are so many employees distracted at work? Is it because the distractions are available and makes it very hard for the employees to focus? Is It this or because the employees lack motivation? Lack of motivation is a concept which is nothing new to any of us. Some days you feel motivated, and other days you can’t even get up from your bed no matter how hard you try. Motivating yourself is hard. Harish Arora Vestige says “starting is the hardest thing” exists for a good reason. The beginning of even a small task requires a great deal of dedication than continuing the task. If by chance, you happen to be struggling mentally then even the tiniest of things seem impossible. To your rescue, there are simple ways or you can call tricks through which you can feel motivated. Find below some personalised tips from Harish Arora Vestige to get motivated: 1. Plan your entire day Take half an hour out of your day and write a daily routine. Structure your whole day according to the number of tasks you have in a day. Creating a schedule will help you manage time and your tasks will feel much more manageable. Planning this thing can easily be done on your phone too. 2. Find a dedicated workplace Though we all know that a bed is the most comfortable space in the entire house, but a dedicated workplace is necessary for good focus. So, even though your bed might feel like a comfortable spot, do create a workspace somewhere else in the house 3. Find a work that interests you Doing something that interests you is a major factor in motivation, as said by Harish Arora Vestige. But, this doesn’t mean that you have to quit your job. Doing work that is interesting is one of the best ways to ensure that you’re motivated and engaged. 4. Create small goals Completing a large task might be draining but what if you break it down into small and easier tasks? So, instead of focusing on a large goal, break the goal into bite-size goals and look how easy it gets. By breaking everything into small steps, the tasks are seemingly more doable. 5. Reward yourself When you know there’s a little reward waiting for you, then you might find work interesting. For e.g. Tell yourself that you’ll get to watch this new movie if you get your work done by 6 p.m. Besides all this, remind yourself how amazing you’ll feel when you get this project done. This might put into action and give you that motivation.
