If you have marble slabs at Seaside Park installed in your kitchen, you’d be keener to know how to safeguard it, and those who still haven’t planned for any immediate purchase of marble countertops might find this blog pretty useful! Being a foodie or a cook comes with its own set of cleaning problems. Your countertops have to go through a lot of stains and it’s a challenge to maintain it! We love marble for its natural stone beauty, even though it can show wear and tear over the years… But over the years, it acquires a patina that adds to the character, which is admired by many. You might have heard that protecting marble against etching and stains takes efforts, but thankfully not a lot with our curated tips below! 4 ‘Not-So-Difficult’ Ways To Take Care Of Marble Slabs1. Your Sealant Marks Its LifeMarble is a natural porous stone and you’d have to protect the surface by keeping it well sealed! When you get marble slabs in Seaside Park, there’s no default sealant applied to it. You should ask your seller or installer or fabricator to determine which sealant is right for you! If you’re skilled enough to handle small renovation tasks, even you can apply the sealant over on your marble countertop! Remember that when water no longer beads off the surface, it’s time to reseal! Normally, the sealant should last about a year before it needs to be reapplied. 2. Do You Clean The Right Way?It’s understood that you shouldn’t be using any acidic or abrasive cleaners. Just vacuum or better sweep up any left out dirt using a damp mop or sponge, regularly. To ensure that the sealant remains effective after a number of years, you should wipe down your countertop using a sponge or damp cloth with mild non-acidic soap solution and water. Don’t go complaining why your marble slab hasn’t been looking pristine after only 3 months of installation, because they tend to attract dirt as compared to other countertops. 3. Spot TreatmentTo get rid of stubborn stains, make use of poultice paste and spread it onto the stain. Next, cover the stain with a plastic wrap and seal it with the painter’s tape. Leave it to dry for at least 12 to 24 hours. Scrape the paste off and wipe with a damp cloth. If you still see some stains on the surface, ensure you reapply the paste. 4. Removing StainsWhen cleaning with soap and water non-acidic solution, you might not see expected results every time as the stain might be deeper than you thought! You need more aggressive action, such as a cleanser solution with a soft scrub. Such action will get rid of the sealant and allow you to scrub down to the very rigid stains. You’ll see that the cleaned part is brighter than its neighboring parts. Similarly, go and clean the rest of the area with the same solution and scrub duo. Rinse it later with mild hot water and let it dry completely, as this might take a couple of days. Remember to put the sealant all over again once you’re done cleaning!
